To find and replace text in captions, in the search field, type the text you want to replace. If you want to search for specific text, at the top of the caption listing, click the Search in Captions field, then type the text you want to search for and press Enter to search for the text. If this results in overlapping captions, Kaltura will highlight the overlapping captions. To edit a caption's timestamp, again, you'll want to hover over the caption, then click in the timestamp field and make changes to the timecode. Once you see the blinking cursor in the caption, you can make edits to the text displayed. To edit a specific caption, hover over the caption you want to edit, and then click in the text box to activate it. On the left side of the screen your captions are displayed, and on the right is a small video player that you can use to preview your captions. To make edits to the captions, click the Edit icon to the far right of the row for the captions you want to edit. If the service category lists "machine," those captions were completed mechanically.
If the service category lists "professional," those captions were completed by a human. The fidelity of the caption file is indicated by the "service" category. A table containing all the caption tracks available for the media file you're working with will appear.
Once the media loads, to access the caption editor, underneath the media player, click on Actions, then in the menu that appears, click on Caption and Enrich. From here, you'll want to click on the title of the media you want to edit captions for. In the menu that appears, click on My Media. Once you're logged in, to access your uploaded videos, in the upper right corner of the Kaltura site, click on your name. To get started, you'll first want to make sure you're logged in to Kaltura at kaltura.iu.edu.
